Born in 1967 in the city of Plymouth nestled on the Devon Cornwall border. The area is surrounded by some of the most scenic countryside in the UK. To the south is the beautiful coastline with its beaches and dramatic cliffs & all the wildlife that accompanies it. To the north is Dartmoor National Park that offers so many different habitats & wild vistas. Growing up in this area & with encouragement from his parents, David began painting the wildlife he saw around him. During this time a menagarie of birds began to grow at home with wild casualties and waifs & strays coming in from all directions.
This early exposure & handlingof wildlife all helped David to understand the anatomy & life cycles of countless species of flora & fauna.
Another aspect of his life at this time was his love of Falconry & flying his own Hawks daily this had lead to David exhibiting at all the major Falconry shows & building a worldwide reputation as one of the leading artists in this genre. Attending international field meets in Africa & America has taken him to one of the most beautiful wilderness areas still left in pursuit of his love of hunting with Falcons. This has lead to many commissions from fellow falconers who know every last feather on their charges, something that other "Wildlife Painters" never get right but being a falconer, David knows only to well.
After developing his photography skills originally for his own artistic reference. This was the start of his photographic career, running along side his amazingly detailed artwork.
Now a recognised photographer in his field, spending countless hours in cold cramped hides waiting to capture the ultimate image. Now available as artist signed limited edition prints and an amazing collection of greeting cards available throughout the UK.
